Pastor Ricardo and Karen Quintana
Lead Pastor - Ministry Administrator
Ricardo and Karen have been married for 33 years and are blessed with two daughters and 7 grandchildren who all live in Ventura.
They have been in ministry for 38 years. Ricardo has served as a youth, executive and lead pastor. Karen has been a Music and Choir Director, Groups Director and Ministry Administrator.
Pastor Ricardo is an Adjunct Professor of Bible and Theology at Northwest University with a Master’s Degree in Missional Leadership.
He is also a police chaplain with the Ventura Police Department.
Pastor Ricardo and Karen have been the pastors at Journey for the last two years.
Josh and Taylor Ness
Youth Pastors - Creative Director - Systems Coordinator
Josh and Taylor are our Youth Pastors. Josh is aslo the Creative Director here at Journey Church. He grew up as a missionary kid in Tanzania, Africa where he developed a creative mind. Josh has a BA degree in communications and is passionate about finding creative ways to share Jesus.
Taylor serves as well as our Systems Coordinator here at JCV. She has a BA degree in Business Administration. They are the proud parents of Brooklyn and Liam.
Rebekah Ayala
Children's Ministry Director
Hello! My name is Rebekah Ayala. I have a wonderful husband, two sweet boys, one precious daughter, and one cuddly doggie. I was raised in Ventura County and was blessed to get my Bachelors in Child and Family Development in sunny San Diego.
Prior to joining Children’s Ministry, I did behavioral therapy with children with special needs for ten years. I love working with kids and seeing their faces as they start to understand something. Helping them to understand who God is and how he wants to be involved in their lives has been life changing and I look forward to continue to do so here at Journey. I love meeting new people so please stop by The Harbor top say, “Hi!”
Milo Joaquin
Worship Leader
Hello, My name is Emilio Joaquin, but everyone calls me Milo. I have been blessed to grow up as a Christian in a generation of pastors, but now as an adult I acknowledge what a life with God truly means. I have a passion to lead worship because I have experienced a great change in my walk with Christ from worship alone, and I believe God has called me to lead others into a closer relationship with Him. I am beyond blessed to be a part of an incredible team here at Journey Church Ventura and I am extremely excited to see God move trough his people here and in Ventura County!
Joel and Julia Liechty
Maintenance - Executive Assistant
They first joined South Coast Fellowship over 20 years ago and love that Journey Church Ventura is their church home.
Joel was hired to do maintenance and janitorial services thirteen years ago and Julia came on staff five years ago as Children’s Ministries Director. Over a year ago she transitioned to Pastor Ricardo’s Executive Assistant.
They have two children, Heather and Daniel, and 3 grandchildren and another on the way.
They enjoy spending lots of time with them and being outdoors working in their yard and garden. Joel is an avid cyclist and rides many miles around Ventura County each week. Honk if you see him on the road!

OUR BOARD
Don and Maria Aguirre
Board Member
They have been married for 47 years and has tow children, Claudia and Dominic and are blessed with 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Don served Ventura County for 44 years in Personnel Services and is currently retired and serving at JCV. Don and Maria were active members of of South Coast Fellowship since 1984 and then stayed with the church when it changed to JCV. They have served faithfully in Children’s ministry, the prayer team, as couples and men’s groups leader, men’s and women’s mentorship, as a church council member, church elder, church host leader and board member.

Dave and Liz Bautista
Board Member
Dave and Liz have been married for 43 years. They have served as youth pastors and all around servants in all kinds of roles in the church. Dave worked in the oil fields and is currently retired. Dave and Liz have a love for people that comes naturally.
